Bathroom Water Damage Repair
Rebuilt waterproof from the subfloor up — so the leak that started this does not come back behind the new walls.
Shower pans that leak, soft floors around the toilet, mold behind a tub surround. We rebuild the bathroom waterproof from the subfloor up, and the drying side is handled by our sister restoration brand.
Most bathroom water damage is not a flood. It is a shower pan or a grout line that has been letting a small amount of water through for years, into the subfloor where nobody can see it. By the time the floor feels soft underfoot or a stain shows on the ceiling below, the framing has usually been wet a long time. Patching the tile does not fix that, which is why this work is a remodel rather than a repair: the surround comes out, the substrate gets inspected, the rot gets replaced, and the new system goes in grout-free and fully waterproof so the same slow leak cannot start again. If there is standing water or active mold, that gets dried and remediated first by WA Mitigation, our sister brand, before we build anything back.
What's included
- Subfloor and framing inspected once the old surround is out
- Rotted substrate replaced, not covered over
- Grout-free waterproof wall systems with no grout lines to fail
- Correctly sloped, single-piece shower bases
- Drying and mold work handled first by WA Mitigation
This might be right for you if
- The floor feels soft near the tub, toilet or shower
- There is a stain on the ceiling below your bathroom
- You can smell mildew in the room and cannot find the source
- Grout and caulk keep failing no matter how often you redo them
What to think about
- Whether the damage is still active. If water is running or the room is wet, drying comes before any rebuild, and WA Mitigation does that side.
- What is actually under the tile. Your designer can see the room, but nobody knows the condition of the subfloor until the surround comes out — so the written price names what is included and what would be an added scope if rot is found.
- Whether this is an insurance claim. Bring it up at the visit. We do not file claims or advise on coverage, but what we scope and document is what your carrier will want to see.
- Going grout-free. Most of these failures start at a grout or caulk joint, so a one-piece waterproof system removes the thing that failed rather than rebuilding it.
How pricing works
We don't post a price online because no two bathrooms are the same — the layout, the materials, and what you want all change the number. Instead, a designer comes to your home, shows you real options in your budget, and gives you a firm, written price the same day. It's free, and there's no obligation to move forward.
Water Damage Repair FAQ
Do you handle the water extraction and the mold, or just the bathroom?
Just the bathroom rebuild. The extraction, the drying equipment and any mold remediation is handled by WA Mitigation, a sister brand under the same company, so it is one phone call and you are not coordinating two contractors against each other. We build back after their side is finished.
Can you tell how bad it is before you open the wall?
Only partly, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your designer can read the room, the staining pattern and how the floor behaves underfoot, which is usually enough to tell a surface problem from a subfloor problem. The exact condition of the framing is not knowable until the surround is out, so the written price states what is covered and what would be additional if rot is found behind it.
Is this covered by insurance?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your policy and what caused it. A sudden supply line failure is treated very differently from years of slow seepage through grout. We do not file claims, speak to adjusters for you or tell you what you are covered for — but we will give you a written itemized scope and photos, which is what a carrier asks for.
My bathroom is flooding right now. Can you come out?
Shut off the water supply first, then go to wamitigation.com — that is our sister restoration brand and their line is answered around the clock for an active loss. Get the water stopped and the room dried before anything gets rebuilt. Once it is dry, come back to us for the bathroom itself and the design visit.
Will the new shower be covered by a warranty?
Yes. The acrylic wall and base systems carry a lifetime warranty covering both the products and our installation. Your designer goes through the full details at the in-home visit.
